Delta worries frequent flyers

Delta SkyMiles members are to benefit from various new redemption options as the airline revamps its loyalty programme.

Customers who have a Gold or Platinum SkyMiles credit card from American Express can use a new 'Pay with Miles' feature allowing them to buy flights with miles or their card, or a combination of both, and the airline's online Medallion Marketplace - previously accessible only to Platinum Medallion members - is now open to all members, who can use miles (or combinations of miles and money) to buy TVs, DVD players and gifts, or pay for hotel stays.

Delta is also committed to growing its SkyMiles Online Auction (where members bid for exclusive merchandise and VIP access to special events) - and revamping its Award Ticket programme by introducing three new redemption tiers.
